How to maintain pH in rinse water tanks of pickling




we have a push-pull pickling line; in this we are unable to maintain the ph of rinse water tanks. yellow patches are coming and scale is deposited in water storage tanks .

Dear Amit,
pH of the rinsing water must be maintained in between 6.5 to 7.5 to maintain this particular range you have to regenerate the rinsing water when the pH comes down.

Sir:
My experiences in Hot Dip Galvanizing show that the proper pH after acid pickling must be 4 or lower. A pH near 7 causes corrosion of the product. I have one or two articles in the magazine Metal Finishing which describes the bad results (rusting) of the steel at a pH near 7.
