Method of corrosion resistance checking




What are the lab test to check the corrosion resistance of Ni-Cr Electroplated component? We are having one salt spray tester which gives us result in 10 days, which is not acceptable to us.

Dear Ajay,
Standard method of testing of corrosion for nickel chrome is CASS test (Copper accelerated acetic acid [on eBay or Amazon] salt spray). For details you can refer to ASTM B368.

Dear Ajay,
As per my suggestion for suitable corrosion testing unit as per ASTM B368 is CASS TEST unit.(CASS -i.e. Copper Accelerated Salt Spray test.) Using this unit result is as per your testing means 24 Hrs. 48 hrs. For detail information ref. Std. ASTM B368.
