Zirconium based conversion coating wastewater

I am curious to know if anyone has switched to a zirconium conversion coating, like Alodine 5200, and is using ion exchange to clean up rinse water. We switched recently and the ion exchange system we used to treat the chromate rinse water has drastically lower time between regeneration.
