Stripping silver from Nickel

I am trying to remove silver plating from a job. the substrate is plated with nickel before it is plated with silver. I tried the sulfuric/nitric acid method, but it attacks the undercoat. Is there a harmless nonproprietary method to remove silver from nickel

Hi Nitin. You can use sodium cyanide 90 g/l and sodium hydroxide 15g/l. , room temp anodic 6 A/dm� with a steel cathode.

And you can also try 10 percent of sodium cyanide and water to full volume 1 to 5 Amp/ dm� anodic, 20 °C.
