I was wondering if anyone can figure out why the color won't stick on my parts. I'm new to this, but maybe this info will help. I'm using sulfuric acid/water mix (70/30 respectively). The instructions said to keep the part in the acid bath for 10-15 min. after the fizzing started. Then soak in a warm color bath. I'm using red dye but I end up with a Gold-ish color all over with some red lines. Sorry so long!

Hi, Chris. Were the parts properly cleaned before anodizing? Typical anodizing solution is 10 percent H2SO4 by volume, not 70 percent -- something is drastically wrong with your instructions! What temperature are you holding (should be 68 - 70 °F). How many ASF are you applying? Sounds like you have virtually no anodizing layer due to current too low and acid too high. Good luck!
