I am studying in Espoo- Vantaa Polytechnic to an engineer. My degree programme is surface treatment and material technology.

My final exam subject is Lead-free-, and Lead inclusive free cutting steel coating by electrodeposition process project. Plating material is silver. What are suitable primary treatments that plating will succeed?

I want to know what are the materials to be coated over the free cutting steel. For example nickel plating. By which factor the coating material is selected.
