-----Can anyone tell me if I can boil sap in a galvanized pan
As kids we boiled in this pan for years and no one is dead (yet) but I would like to know is it safe to boil our sap in this pan

That's a good question. I am absolutely certain that you will all die..someday. It's doubtful that it will be from the zinc in this pan, though. Check with the American Galvanizers Association (www.galvanizeit.org), they have a ton of info on this subject.

Hi, Frit. Galvanized surfaces, and all zinc surfaces, are considered not food safe. That doesn't necessarily mean they are poisonous, but it means that zinc can dissolve in some foods (mostly acidic foods) and zinc should not be allowed to come into contact with food.
