-----Prep of brass, silver, and copper before lacquering
After buffing with rouge and or brown tripoli buffing compound ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] , most small shops I have seen use lacquer thinner ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] Flammable! to hand wash parts before painting. Would like a safe solution.

Hi, Walter. I'm not sure what you are implying. That lacquer thinner
⇦ on

is a dangerous material? (Yes, it's somewhat flammable). Or that the operation is too labor intensive? Or that the workers are jeopardized by skin contact with lacquer thinner

[affil link] Flammable!
?
The better way to clean brass and copper parts with lower labor, non-flammable solvents, and a much cleaner surface is via vapor degreasing. But this elegant solution has fallen into environmental disfavor due to the possibility of smog generation and/or chemicals that attack the ozone layer if the system is poorly managed. It's not an impossible situation though. Good luck!
