-----Need gold plated brass antiques stripped and replated
I am the school minister at a boarding school. We have a cross, 2 candle sticks and 2 flower vases in the chapel and the finish needs attention on all the pieces. I am writing to inquire about having them stripped and refinished.
They seem to be hollow, brass, and plated with possibly copper then gold plate for the final finish. The metal seems to be hammered and it is also engraved with names of the donors (very fine lines). The cross is the largest piece roughly 32" tall, 20" wide, and the base is 12" deep. The candle sticks and vases are under 24" in height.
On one piece the gold seems to be polished off. The vases have dried, crusty adhesive stuck around the top. All pieces have spots (pits?) where the under-coating or brass is coming through.
I would prefer a shop in the mid-atlantic area that specializes in this type of work. I also welcome recommendations for other possible actions to take with these pieces.

Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
