Metallic oxides not recommended in the Pharmaceutical products

Dear Sir,

We have been using 316L stainless steel containers for the preparation of Pharmaceutical Products. Recently we found that we are getting a black powder on the surface of sponge or the piece of cloth which we use for cleaning the container. This happens every time when we use a wet cloth or the cloth moistened with citric acid on eBay or Amazon [affil link] . We are very much worried because of the fact that such kind of material should not be there in the pharmaceutical products.

So, my query is:

a) Is it the property of steel, that we get this black material every time we clean/rub the surface of it?

b) Can we use citric acid for cleaning?

c) Are there any chances of the container walls getting thinner due to prolonged use of citric acid ?
