DIN standard in marine repair [Wales, U.K.]

Renovating a small mahogany yacht,Would like to know if the DIN number on a screw matters much ,what is DIN and are 7997,or 7991 screws suitable to be used in highly corrosive salt atmosphere.If not which are?
