Plating of small ABS parts

I am advising india's largest manufacturers of plastic sharpeners for pencils. The sharpener body is made of ABS plastic and weighs around 2g. We are interested in plating the body. What is the procedure involved? How sturdy is the plating? Will it scratch? Any help as to the process, machinery involved and precautions most welcome vijay

Mr. Pherwani:

Nickel-chrome plating on plastic is used for exterior automotive applications including grills and headlamp & tail light bezels. It will be more than adequate for the application.
