-----Designers Reference
I was wondering if there is a reference for designers who specify parts for plating but aren't involved in the actual process. Frequently I must specify finish on drawings and have no good reference for describing the desired process. Normally we are concerned with variations on zinc electroplate. Thanks,

Hi, Brian. The National Association for Surface Finishing (www.nasf.org) offers their "Quality Metal Finishing Guides" for about $10, and they are directed at specifiers such as yourself. There is one specifically for Zinc. Good luck.
