-----Black Coating for 304 SS
I am looking for an inexpensive process to coat 304 SS thin sheets in the color black-flat. Must be somewhat wear resistant. Will be used as a clip for a sheath. Was thinking of having the pieces coated using the black oxide but heard that it wears off very easily. Does anyone have another suggestion?
Thanks,

Hot black oxide finishes are used on the majority of guns and, although the wear resistance is limited, it may be fine for your application.
