Preserving silver from tarnish

We received the coffee pot from our sons for our 25th anniversary. We would love to put it on display in our china cabinet, but it tarnishes so badly, that it's embarrassing. Is there any treatment we can apply that would "preserve" the silver shine it has just after polishing? Thanks for your web-site.

You can lacquer your pot! Good luck!
