Which abrasive is better for copper cleaning?

I am doing a research on copper cleaning household detergent. We try to use some abrasive material (In oil condition, not sink too fast) in the product. Can anyone please tell me which kind of abrasive is better for this system?

Many companies have spent decades developing and manufacturing copper cleaners. Why not just license a formulation for manufacture in China instead of throwing all of that effort and hard-earned knowledge away? Or what do you find deficient in currently available cleaners? How many sides do wheels have in China these days :-)
