Removing oil based paint from a bathtub

++++

We have pink overspray in the bottom textured part of our bath tub. Could you suggest several removers we could try to get the paint out of the tub without damaging it?

Your task seems like an easy one due to the non-porous surface that you are trying to clean. I would recommend many of the "Safer" labeled paint strippers commercially available at your local hardware/paint store.

Buy the smallest quantity that you can find for this task, because you may find that the safer type stripper will be totally useless for a tougher stripping project that you come across in the next couple of years.

Follow the manufacturers directions, (really pay attention to leaving the stripper on the surface for the recommended time----let the chemical do the work) and follow up with a thourough soak and rinse of your tub prior to use.
