Coloured finish on nickel chromium alloy layer

We are looking for a way to develop coloured finishes on a 80Ni/20Cr wire sprayed surface layer on a iron powder metallurgy article;the article will encounter temperatues up to 400 °C in service, hence organic paints/pigments are not an option. Due to other constituents in the alloy, the maximum treatment temperature permissible is 1020 °C. Ideas please!
