Powder Coat plus Silver Nickel [Michigan]

I have some 1008/1010 parts that require a powder coat finish with a silver nickel finish applied to an area that was masked during the powder coat operation. Can the silver nickel application cause the powder to "peel?".

It's hard to say. On the one hand a plating process is quite aggressive, with alkaline cleaners, acids, etc. On the other, this process of plating the uncoated areas of powder coated parts is certainly done.
