How to detect if Trivalent Chromate is on
parts? [Tennessee]
+++
My company is replacing Hexavalent Chromate with Trivalent
Chromate because of the environmental regulations. The current
Chromate is yellow and can be seen on the parts from our Zinc barrel
plating operation. The trivalent chromate is blueish clear. I am
looking for an easy way to verify that the chromate is on the part.
The hexavalent is easy to see that is it on or not on the parts. Does
anyone know of a way to detect the trivalent chromate besides adding
a dye?
Thank you.
