-----Mercury separation
Well I am in university and my professor won't help me with what I want to do. I would like to separate mercury from some type of compound, i.e., HgCl... anything with mercury in it. What I want in the final product is straight mercury. what do I do?

Please listen to your professor instead of saying "I want" :-)
Please post your actual situation: why you want to separate the mercury and what you intend to do with this toxic material that so many people have been working so long, so hard, and so urgently to get out of the environment.
