Aluminia PCBs

Hello,

I am wondering what type of pretreatment one can use on Aluminia before coating it with electroless Ni. And, if you have a PCB coated with Al, and want to etch a pattern on it, what etching agent would you use.

Has anyone heard of PCB:s with Al clad instead of copper clad to start with ???

I didn't get it clear. Are you talking about alumina (aluminum oxide) or metallic aluminum? Or both? Etchants and procedure will vary tremendously depending on which one you mean.
