-----Effect of high pH on chromated zinc fittings
Could you please help with some information on the affects of a pH of 8.5-10.5 on Zinc Di-Chromate coated fittings, does the Chromate coating prevent attack on the zinc base metal.
Any information would be appreciated.

Craig,
I believe pH in the low end of that range you mentioned would eat off the chrome, and eventually the zinc. In the high end of your range you would quickly, more quickly(within minutes)in elevated temperatures eat through both the chrome and the zinc.
