Mechanical descaling vs chemical pickling in wire drawing [Algeria]

Despite many trials, we cannot achieve same performances in chemical pickling when processing with mechanical descaling machine. Problems appears in defects along the length of the drawwing rod after a short production. We have changed type of lubricant and dies with no succes. Is it technological true that mechanical descaling migth substitute chemical treatment while maintaining all process parameters of wire drawing process ?. If not, what are the reasons ?
