CLEARCOAT ON PLEXIGLASS/CLEAN IT OR TRASH IT

Q. I RECENTLY HAD SOME PAINT WORK DONE ON MY MOTORCYCLE AND WHEN IT WAS RETURNED THE WINDSHIELD HAD A FINE COVERING OF WHAT APPEARED TO BE CLEARCOAT. THE SHOP MGR SAID IT DID NOT HAPPEN AT HIS SHOP, WHICH WAS A BUNCH OF BULL. CAN I REMOVE IT FROM THE PLEXIGLASS SAFELY OR DO I JUST BY A NEW WINDSHIELD?

You can either use a special clay to get it off or use a fine sandpaper like 1500 - 2000 but you most likely will have to polish it off with preferably a high speed polisher. you may be able to get away with just polishing it only. that is depending on how much overspray there is on it.
you just have to be careful not to burn it, since it is plexiglass. but it does have a clear coat on it to protect it. hope that helps
