Looking For Aluminum - Copper composite material (plate)

1998

I am looking for Al-Cu composite plate which use on the anodizing process carry bar. The main reason to use this composite plate is to improve the current conductivity in between carry bar which made with aluminium and clamping plate which used copper.

If someone knows where to get this type of plate, please write back.

Your cooperation and helpfulness on this matter is highly appreciated.

Thank you.

This clad material is used by several rack manufacturers here in the U.S., although I don't exactly what foundry makes it for them. But I don't see why you would want to use it in your application, which is different. What you want is an aluminum flight bar for very substantial strength and good conductivity at low weight. And what you want on the ends is copper plates or shapes. Your issue is how to get good conductivity between the aluminum bar and those copper plates that you are bolting to it. The easiest way is simply to use a compound like No-Ox-Id (Sanchem); for a better electrical bond you can copper plate or silver plate the ends of the aluminum bar before bolting the copper to it.
