Ink in wood

I was wondering if you knew how to get ink out of wood my son has taken a pen to it and I can't seem to get the ink out and I don't want to ruin the table to I don't know what to put on it could you please help me?

Did you ever get a response to your question? I am having the same issue. Ink from a pen leaked on my table overnight and I want to get it out without destroying the wood.
