Equipment setup to restore wire shelving finish

1998

I am engaged in restoration and repair and need a method of restoring the plating on shelves and wire racks used in appliances. (not ovens or heated devices.) Most of the time, the cost of chrome plating is prohibitive.

Is there a process or a source in Chicagoland that can provide this service or the materials to setup an inhouse service. It is low volume and erratic by nature.

There is no affordable way to plate chrome at home. There is a lot of technique involved also.

I was able to find affordable racks at restaurant supply houses and gone out of businnes discounters like Big Lots. It took several trips before I found them all. I had to cut down some larger ones in a couple of cases.
