Surface modification of 316L

I would like to modify SS316L such that the surface of the material is coated with amino functionalities. For my graduate thesis, I am seeking to modify stainless steel with a polysaccharide for a biomedical application. I am looking to covalently bind a polysaccharide to stainless steel through reductive amination. I appreciate all advice. Thanks.
