Gun Rebluing

I have an 20-gauge shotgun single barrel pump. I reblued the barrel once with a kit but after a few uses the bluing is wearing off. This is just my cheap deer gun and I don't really care what it looks at so can I just paint it a flat color with spray paint. Like camo or od green. If so what are the steps you suggest to do this?

Please help,

What is usually recommended is to completely wipe down the gun with alcohol and let it dry, then start putting on your paint. Ohh yeah tape off parts like the receiver and plug end of barrel. My brother does this quite often over the whole gun and they turn out great. You can add camo effect and add twig effect by using flat black on Q-tip [affil links] over an od and tan basecoat or just do it all one color. If camoing try it on some cardboard or something first.
