Best coating solution for a one-off theatrical mask [UK]

I want to coat a face mask for a theatrical production to achieve a completely reflective finish (that is, silvered) which may be polished. I aim to make the mask out of beaten metal or plastic, but as yet I am unsure. What methods of coating are available to achieve this aim and which in your opinion would be likely cost the least (on average).
