Antique brass restoration [California]

++

Dear Sirs,

I have an Antique Brass Statue from India which is quite large & is in one piece & is very heavy. I have noticed green deposits on different areas on this statue & it appears to be Eroding the statue. I can not take the statue to any store to get it restored. Most of the brass cleaning agents remove the antique look & shine the brass. I do not want it to shine as the antique look is its beauty. Someone suggested Brite Boy brass cleaner but I am scared of using it as the statue has a lot of sentimental value & I can not replace it. Can you please guide me?

Thanking you, Sincerely,

Even if you remove some of the patina in the cleaning or polishing process; you can replace the patina artificially with Brass Ager--liquid compound which ages the look of the brass. The longer you leave it on; the darker it will appear. So in essence you can control the degree of aging you would prefer (Brass Darkening Solution [link is to product info at Rockler]). Good luck.

( My advice is sound. I have professionally restored brass, copper and silver for more than 25 years)
