Sputtering vs. Vapor coating

++

When metallizing PET Film for Fabrication of solar control window film, Does sputtering have any advantages or superior charteristics versus vapor deposition when using Aluminum as metal?

By vapor deposition I assume you mean ion vapor deposition, or IVD, a common means of depositing aluminum wherin the aluminum is evaporated. Sputter deposition of aluminum should result in a better coating -- the metal reaches the substrate with greater kinetic energy -- but is generally a much slower process, and therefore more expensive.
