Blue passivation (trivalent / hexavalent chrome based) [India]

I have received some zinc plated samples with blue passivation (claimed to be trivalent chrome based). Is there any way to verify (by chemical methods / microscopic methods) whether it is trivalent OR hexavalent based passivation?
