Replating interior of a vintage electric coffeemaker

++

I have recently acquired a 1950s/60s vintage electric vacuum coffeemaker. It is of chrome over copper construction. The exterior is bright and shiny, while the interior is mostly a duller silver color. In the lower portion, where the water is heated, the copper has begun to show through. I'm interested in replating the interior, but don't know what type of replating to seek in terms of both material and method. I'm sure the cost would exceed the value of the appliance, but I'm interested nevertheless.

I don't know what plating was used originally, but tin is completely non-toxic, so it might be a good choice.
