How to restore copper finish to "like new"

(2002)

I have large section of heavy copper sheeting that has oxidized to a brown patina. I want to restore it to a shiny new finish, then, decide on a finish. What is the most efficient and cost saving way to clean a large area? I have Muriatic Acid [linked by editor to product info at Amazon]. Can this be used?
