Link to MIL-C-5541 from MIL-A-8625 for 'Touch-Up'

I have an Aluminum Alloy part that needs to be Anodized per the MIL-A-8625 / MIL-PRF-8625 [on DLA]. Parts were anodized and I rejected due to what appeared to be 'surface scratches'. Rejected per MIL-A-8625 3.13 which is the Workmanship. I asked the supplier to 'Touch-Up' per Sect:3.3.4 of MIL-A-8625 which references the QPL-81706 [on DLA]. Parts were returned treated to the MIL-C-5541, which I think is acceptable per the MIL-DTL-81706 Sect. 6.1.3, am I correct? I was reading the e-mail from Bob Denny in Florida. What is my link, and since the MIL-A-8625 calls out the QPL-81706 in Sect:3.3.4, are the only approved materials those listed in the QPL? Do I ask the process house that certifies to the MIL-C-5541 to certify the Manufacturer Designation that was used, i.e. Enthox AL-990, Alchrome #2, Alodine 1200? Please let me know?

Thank you,

I believe that Mil-C-5541 requires that a material on the QPL be used. That being the case, when they certify Mil-C-5541 they are already certifying that a QPL-listed process was used. While you could ask the shop to say which QPL product was used, you don't want to restrict your options to one particular product for next time.
