TTE and Hexane [Canada]

I was wondering how come you can't use TTE in school anymore but you use Hexane which can explode? And what does TTE stand for anyway?

Thank you for answering my other question about Copper sulfate and how much you need to consume before you die. It was for science for your information. Thanks for saying you hoped it wasn't for any thing bad such as killing myself, I love my life.

You can research this yourself by obtaining copies of the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for these chemicals. I'm not familiar with Canadian environmental laws, but the US has the Hazards Communications Act that requires all manufacturers and importers of chemicals to create a MSDS sheet that has all of the safety information on the chemical.

There are free websites that give access to this information. The University of Vermont is a good online resource. You will have to figure out what TTE is. Many complex chemicals are made into acronyms like that.
