Checking coating thickness on poultry equipment

We are manufacturing hi-tech poultry equipment and for our raw material we would like to test the coating thickness. The raw material is 1 mm to 5 mm galvanised wire rope. Please suggest us the instrument which can measure the coating thickness and the availability.

Hi, Govind. Galvanizing is zinc and the wire is steel, so you have a good range of technologies available. Simple magnetic thickness testers work for this material combination, but the shape of wire rope may make it problematic. Other potential instrument technologies include beta backscatter and x-ray fluorescence. Good luck.
