Need Help with Steel Coatings

I have a piece of cold-rolled steel that is 1" thick by 7" wide by 7ft long. I am planning on using this for a jig for manufacturing motorcycle frames. The top and side surfaces are the most important in that the top needs to be as flat as possible and the sides be parrallel to each other. I would like to coat this with something to provide corrosion resistance without adding dimension to it. It needs to have good abrasion resistance and be able to withstand weld spatter.

The easiest thing to do is keep a coat of welding anti-spatter spray on the surface, it will keep things from rusting quite a long time, or have it metallized with a corrosion resistant coating, (not zinc). Copper or aluminum would be the first choices, better yet use aluminum for the fixture base.
