Stripper for electroless nickel

---

I am looking for a stripper solution to strip electroless nickel from a 40 carbon alloy steel.

We use a product from Fidelity called 3136. It takes about an hour at 200 F to strip 150-200 microinches of high phos electroless. If this seems excessive, you must realize that high phos electroless will show no effect whatsoever after a 30 second nitric acid dip.

This stripper leaves underlying copper plate untouched. It is an alkaline material with nitrobenzoic acids and ethylene diamine so waste treatment is a nightmare. Fortunately we have little need for it most of the time.

I am sure other vendors also have similar products.
