Magnesium parts : environmentally safe alternative to chromatation

We are seeking a protection for our magnesium parts: we want to keep them from oxydation to ensure electrical conductivity. Chromatation concerns us for environmental reasons.

Do you know any clean and efficient alternative?

Sure . . . you can rhodium plate them. Or, if that's too expensive, and you need to cut corners, then just gold plate them smiley face

Seriously, it sounds like quite a trick to keep an active metal like magnesium electrically conductive without using chromates.
