Suitability of zinc plating for Gasoline fill pipe?

How would alk-noncyanide zinc hold up if used on the gasoline fill pipe of a motor vehicle?

We currently use galvanized pipe and paint it with a cathodic electrocoat. The inner surface is not completely coated in electrocoat due to the reduced throwing power of the process but field performance using zero alcohol containing fuels is exceptional. Some car companies use zinc plated fuel filler tubes both inside and out. Coating the inner surface is achieved by placing electrodes inside the tube during the plating process to assist throwing power.

Gasoline line fittings. I would like to use a galvanized street 90 elbow out of gasoline tank on dune buggy. Will there be a problem with gas corroding fitting?
