A. I think you mean Taber Abraser. Taber is a wear testing instrument that spins the part 60-70 rpm against a hard rubber wheel. For hard chromium coatings the wheels are usually CS-10 with a 1000 gram load.

A. For Hard Anodise you need CS 17 wheels and look at approx. 5,000 pounds (UK money) for the kit to do it. Look on the net for [Taber Industries] as this should get you to where you need to go.

A. Many process specifications will reference ASTM D4060, standard Test Method for Abrasive Resistance of Organic Coatings by the Taber Abraser.

Q. Hi all, Please suggest what kind of Abraser wheels should be used to test abrasion resistance of polyethylene and in general any plastics ?. May I use ceramic type or hard rubber or metallic ones?

Thanks a million,
