I wold like to have magnesium color anodized. Can this be done ?

I am told that mag cannot be anodized like Aluminum or made porous for painting? What is the equivalent process for magnesium?

As you noted, Richard, they are different metals and don't really have "equivalent" processes.

There are a number of processes for aluminum and a number of processes for magnesium. We have on line an article about processes for magnesium, but if you patiently apply the search engine you will find a lot of forum threads on the subject, including references to an invaluable book by Dow on magnesium finishing which is sometimes available from this link at Abebooks.com or this link at Alibris.
