Q. Is it possible to get an immersion coating of tin on to steel from an alkaline stannate solution, containing cyanide?

A. Hi. The tin is added in stannous form (SnCl2):
-- but not being a chemist I think I'll agree with Tom that it's an alkaline stannate bath nonetheless.
