Equipment for solution monitoring and maintenance

-----

I am interested in obtaining any information on automated solution monitoring and maintenance for electroplating. I would also be interested in any information about software or methods for calculating the amount of metal the would be plated onto zinc parts of all shapes and sizes. Please reply if you have any such information. Thank you.

Glenn A. Van Noord

An observation is that Walgren (Grand Rapids, Mich.) seems the plating supplier most aggressively marketing automated solution monitoring and maintenance. You might start with them. That doesn't mean I recommend them; I have no personal experience with their system. As for the amount of metal that will be deposited, start with Faraday's Law coupled with the accepted efficiency of the plating process in question. The Metal Finishing Guidebook (Elsevier Science) can get you well started on this.

-----

Mr. Van Noord asked about systems for automated solution monitoring and maintenance for electroplating. Walgren, which you mentioned in your reply, has changed its name or merged with Parker Systems. The sales rep I've talked to is Mary Lynn [California, area code 408]. Also, Sanda Corporation sells a system - one of their reps is John Boslett [New York, area code 607]. Good luck in finding what you need, Glenn! -

Thanks for the update, Ms. Daniel.
