ELECTROLESS NICKEL
Techmetals, Inc. does virtually every type of electroless
nickel plating from the most corrosion resistant, high
phosphorous coatings to Teflon nickel co-deposits.
Processes:
- Techmetal-103 A high phosphorous electroless nickel
free of heavy metal contaminants. Highly suitable for the
food industry as well as expensive tooling requiring the
ultimate in corrosion resistance.
- Techmetal-104 This electroless nickel deposit was
developed for jobs that must meet standard electroless
nickel specifications while maintaining a bright
attractive appearance.
- Techmetal-127 The low phosphorous content of this
coating brings many unique properties to the end user. An
as plated hardness of 60 Rockwell C makes this an ideal
coating for aluminum and "even" tempered alloys requiring
a hard surface with no heat treatment. This deposit also
exhibits a higher thermal resistance than other
electroless nickels and is solderable. Applications for
the aerospace, defense, foundry, automotive and chemical
industries.
- Techmetal-133 A boron electroless nickel with low
stress and high hardness used in the electronic industry
for its solderability, weldability and high melting
point. Applications include lead frames and relay
contractors, however, uses are limited due to coat
factors.
HARD CHROME
Techmetals, Inc. provides hard chrome and salvage plating
technology including a complete polishing department for
molds, rolls and screws.
Processes:
- Techmetal-105 A proprietary hard chrome that's
brighter, harder, more corrosion-resistant and deposits
more uniformly than standard hard chrome. Used in
applications where a high finish must be maintained, such
as molding and metal forming applications.
- Techmetal-107 A satin hard chrome that offers greatly
improved wearability and antigalling properties
experienced in sliding wear. This coating retains oil and
out performs hard chrome and electroless nickel under
lubricated conditions.
- Techmetal-119 Micro-cracked chrome molds and dies are
impregnated with fluorocarbons providing hard chrome
plating with increased release properties.
ELECTROLYTIC NICKEL
Techmetals, Inc. has the capability to provide the
highest level possible of a pure nickel coating in
thicknesses up to .250".
Processes:
- Techmetal-123 An electrolytic amorous
nickel-phosphorous coating containing 14% phosphorous.
Limited to simple shapes, the corrosion resistance of
this coating is superior and offers good lubricity. A
less expensive alternative to electroless nickel.
- Techmetal-125 An electrolytic cobalt-phosphorous
coating containing 14% phosphorous. This combination
provides outstanding wear and corrosion resistance in one
coating. Works as a replacement for some exotic metals
such as stellite and inconel.
- Techmetal-131 An electrolytically applied coating of
soft, ductile, stress free and machineable nickel.
Coating thickness of up to .250" can be used on new parts
for protection and also used as a salvage tool. Its
exceptional corrosion resistance is applied in the
nuclear, food, textile and medical industries.
