Letter 8031 Antiquing shiny, polished brass sheet.+ Hello. We need to find a simple way to "antique" or make slightly brown brass sheet. We do not want the shiny, polish finish. This finish must remain permanent. Thank you. M. Weisbeck
+ Dear M. Weisbeck, If you want something semi-permanent, you can try PVD, maybe look up Baldwin Brass. If the brass is going outside, I can assure you that nothing will be permanent. You can oxidize the brass and clear coat it, but will need to refinish it occasionaly. If you don't want a high gloss, get a flat lacquer. Or you can put a dyed lacquer over it and save the step of oxidizing. Either way, you'll need to refinish. Good luck, Jake Koch
Dear Reader: please choose what you want to do.
