Etchants for Cu-Ag alloys

+

I am studying the Cu-Ag alloys because in Peru there are historical jewellery made of this alloys. I want to know, what etchants can I use in my study?

The simplest etchant for copper and silver alloys is a mixture of ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Mix at about 1:1 ratio if you are using 3% peroxide. Mix at about 1:1:1 with water if you are using 30% peroxide.

Good luck.
